Our COVID-19 Safety Tariff
Our practitioners have always worn personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Wellesley – but due to the global demand for PPE, the cost of this protective equipment has increased significantly. To put this in context, since the outbreak of COVID-19, many private dentists report that they are now spending around 100 times more on PPE than in 2019 – this is how considerable the cost increase has been.
In addition to this increase in cost, new guidelines from the Government mean that our practitioners may also have to wear enhanced PPE to minimise the risk of cross-contamination during certain treatments.
This combination of increased costs and the enhanced PPE needed to keep you safe mean that the only way we can continue to operate is by introducing a COVID-19 safety tariff. We have introduced this tariff so that we can be completely transparent with our clients about the extra costs that we have to charge. We have decided to do this rather than putting our prices up, so that we can reduce the price again once we are no longer incurring the extra costs.
The safety tariff will be applied to each private appointment and adjusted for the level of PPE required for your treatment.
Please be assured that this is a temporary measure. We are committed to keeping costs to a minimum and hope to reduce costs again once the cost of PPE reduces – or the need for enhanced safety measures decreases.
We hope you understand that these measures are necessary in order to allow us to re-open and treat you safely.
Thank you.
