BONDING

Are you bothered by one little cosmetic flaw on your teeth that causes you to put your hand over your mouth or keep it shut whenever someone gets a camera out? Something like a chipped tooth or a gap? It’s probably not enough of a problem to require an aligner or other treatment, but you’d still like to get something done about it? In this case, composite bonding could be exactly what you are looking for!

Bonding can be used for:

  • Disguising Stained or discoloured teeth
  • Closing a small gap
  • Fixing a chipped or oddly-shaped tooth
  • Making short teeth even with other teeth

And the best thing about bonding is that it is quick, pain-free, non-invasive and easily reversible.

Composite is added to your tooth like a filling and layered to achieve the desired effect before being polished into shape. Just like your fillings, you can expect your bonding to last between 5-10 years before it needs to be replaced. It can’t be whitened either, so if you are thinking of whitening your teeth, it is better to do this before you have any bonding done so that we can match it your desired shade. Once in place, your bonded tooth should not require any specific aftercare you can just brush it and care for it as part of your regular oral routine and our dentists will let you know when or if it needs to be replaced.
